App Video – Whatsapp deomoed on Nokia Lumia 620 & Google Nexus 4

Okay.

We have many who worry about how Nokia Lumia 620 with its lower specs (512 Mb Ram & 1 Ghz Dual Core Processor) would cope of with different apps & one of those concern in WP7 was ‘Whatsapp’. So how would Whatsapp in its current form perform on Lumia 620 ?

Before we go ahead let me tell you that a new version of Whatsapp is in development for Windows Phone which would be really awesome as per the Whatsapp team ! .. So for now let’s see Whatsapp in its current form in the video below.

Let’s start with a myth buster on Sunday morning .. Games on WP8. Here’s a video demo of several games (non-big titles) on Nokia Lumia 920 in a single go.

What happened to the lovely ‘Nokia Lumia 620’ in India ? Where is it ?

Surprise Surprise !

Yes it has been a surprise for many many fans in India who were like desperately waiting for Lumia 620 to arrive in India. While it got announced with the big bro’s Lumia 920 & Lumia 820 on 11th Jan 2012, the traces of it are yet to be found in India.

So what exactly happened ?

We are seeing reports of Lumia 620 being launched & available in many markets across the world & in almost all colors. This defo rules out any probability of supply issues aka shortage.

The info that we personally have says that Lumia 620 will be made available in Feb (but we don’t have any exact date). The parallel rumor that is going on in the market is that the device will be available on 28th Feb & the other one says 1st week of March. While we do have the solid info of it launching in Feb, at this moment we just don’t want to guarantee it.

The single biggest reason behind the delay seems to be none other than the launch of Micromax Canvas HD which happened on 14th Feb & just like its predecessor it has got a real good response in India. Hmm !!

If to guess then Nokia India’s marketing team is in a real bad situation right now. On one hand they have a daunting task of doing their biggest comeback in India with Lumia 620 (the device is just awesome) whereas on the other hand they have got difficultest of the competition to beat in terms of Micromax Canvas HD .. & thus thus thus the Delay !!

Options ?

• Launch Lumia 620 as per the original plan (I don’t know what that was), that shall be like launching Lumia 620 at around INR 16,000 .. that won’t succeed any more.
• Launch Lumia 620 at the same price as Micromax Canvas HD i.e. around INR 15,000 .. Nokia fans will definitely go for Lumia 620 in this case knowing that the hardware quality of Nokia will beat that of Micromax on every front.
• Compete with Micromax Canvas HD & launch the device at INR 14,000 .. this has the least probability of happening but then it has a probability (we will leave this one for Nokia to decide).

The success of Nokia’s comeback in India will depend on the acceptance of Windows Phone 8 & for that to happen the Lumia 620 has to reach the masses (in masses).

The things that are in favor of Lumia 620

1. Nokia Brand (Quality & Trust)
2. Colorful & Youthful design of Lumia 620
3. Windows Phone 8 (It’s awesome, it’s light & it’s fast)

Now only if somebody from Nokia India’s team comes out & market it like hell .. Hope somebody’s listening !!!
