WP7.8 builds start appearing on Navifirm (for Nokia Lumia 510, 610,710,800 & 900)

Good news keep coming in. After reporting about the WP 7.8 feature set that recently got revealed via Nokia customer feedback survey. It’s time to see them appearing on Navifirm.

Navifirm is a software for downloading Nokia mobile phone’s firmware images. This software was developed by EPICBIZNUS, and then other developers improved this tool. Features: downloading Nokia firmware files and listing, checking and finding the product code for mobile device. Navifirm connects directly to Nokia firmware support servers, so it has the most recent firmware updates. (via http://www.cpkb.org/wiki/Navifirm)

The firmware build containing ” ****.****.8858.***** ” is probably the WP 7.8 build & it is appearing over Navifirm for all the 1st Generation Lumia’s i.e. Nokia Lumia 510, 610,710,800 & 900.

That’s pretty good news since the official update from Nokia must not be much far now. We expected WP 7.8 to hit around Jan 2013 but it seems that it might just be made available before that.
